Cellz and Fatbabs release bouncy new single ‘When I’m Back’

Cellz is a Munich based artist and saxophone player that roots his musical journey in collaboration. His love for community has seen him expand his influence across the globe, joining forces with Depart from Istanbul, Marc Ronin from Cape Town and Blue Glass from Antigua and most recently, Fatbabs from France. Through his music, he still shows off a unique personality that has earned him plenty of acclaim from publications and radio.

Fatbabs rose to prominence as a beat-maker in 2012, becoming the favoured collaborator of French Reggae icon Naâman. This was followed by several successful albums from the pair, Fatbabs expanding into his own label, Big Scoop Records in 2017. The artist continues to demonstrate his talents both alongside other artists and in his solo projects.

The two artists have most recently paired up for new single ‘When I’m Back’. Rooted in deep lyricism and positive bouncy rhythms, the tracks shows off the talents both Fatbabs and Cellz. In the beat, a warm piano is the backdrop to a bouncy, sunny percussion section and a plucky bass part. Synthesised horns are paired up with the silky smooth sax playing from Cellz, creating a rich and dynamic texture. On top, Cellz performs with passion and connection, a strong and enticing lead part is backed up in the choruses with gorgeous harmonies that shine in this context. He adds in an authenticity alongside his hopeful attitude, with strong lyricism and emotional storytelling.

Cellz explains, "When I'm Back has come a long way, you know. Honestly, the vocal arrangement and lyrics were written in a flash, but we saw massive potential in this track. So, we decided to take our time, pour in all our love and dedication, to make it as huge as possible. I absolutely enjoyed the journey and I'm really looking forward to working on more music with Fatbabs and his team!"
