Coolabah Kings Release Charged New Single ‘Bitter Pill’

Turning the heads of tastemakers across the globe, Melbourne’s very own Coolabah Kings have returned with their latest single ‘Bitter Pill’. Since the release of their critically acclaimed debut EP ‘Killing Time’ in 2022, and a string of infectious singles since then, the three-piece are showing no signs of slowing down as they continue to put the Australian punk scene on the world's stage.

Bursting out the speakers, the riotous drum beat and thunderous distortion make the track energy feel as infectious as it does exciting. Clocking in at just under three minutes, ‘Bitter Pill’ wastes no time in bringing its anthemic atmospheres to the table - cementing Coolabah Kings as a force to be reckoned with in the Australian punk scene.

Speaking about the release, songwriter and guitarist Harry Anderson explains, “Lyrically, ‘Bitter Pill’ delves into the brutal aftermath of trauma dumping emotional baggage on an unsuspecting loved one, only to realize that you may have fractured that relationship permanently and now you’ve got to dig yourself out of it if you want any hope of repairing it.

The Australian-based group aren’t afraid of trying something new and bringing their own unique twist to the scene. Inspired by the dirty grooves present in the likes of Queens of The Stone Age’s back catalogue, they have fused together all this rhythm and energy to produce something akin to ‘groove punk’.
