Garth Adam shares playful three-track EP ‘Say You’ll Come With Me’

Australia-based songwriter Garth Adam blends elements of folk, pop and alt-rock, labelling his sound as “somewhere between Neil Finn and the Lumineers, with a little Coldplay and James Blunt.” The artist originally spent time as part of various bands, before a trip to Willie Nelson’s studio in Austin, TX inspired Garth to pursue his fulfilment in solo artistry.

In 2023, Garth released the three-track EP ‘Say You’ll Come With Me’. Rooted in his experience across the pandemic, the project exudes optimism around the challenges life throws. Light-hearted and earnest, Garth muddles his way through themes of relationships, loss and travelling through glowing guitars, playful drums and a whimsical lead vocal.

Garth shares, “It was a happy session in Perth recording the EP and that’s reflected in the way it turned out,” continuing, “Melvin Tree, my longtime friend Dave Kelly and I play all the instruments. We work through the songs in a circle in the studio and once they are right, we record them on an old Studer analog desk. I was lucky to have Lisa and Keely O’Brien to add the wonderful backing vocals. This EP comes from a particularly fruitful creative period for me, during which I’ve spent more time writing and recording than ever before.”
