Returning to the limelight with his punked-up approach to rock 'n roll, Rhett Repko is back with the release of his latest single ‘How Cold’ as he explores the emotional rollercoaster involved with romance. Earning himself a string of college radio hits and the backing of a whole heap of radio stations across America, the track is Repko’s third release of the year following ‘Born For Love’ earlier in the summer.
Bursting into the airwaves with its pummelling backbeat and cutting bassline, ‘How Cold’ wastes no time in cementing Repko as one of the most exciting underground talents The States has to offer. Complete with catchy melodies and shining guitar laters, the single stands up as one of Rhett’s most exciting offerings to date. The track pushes forward with its huge chorus and anthemic sing-a-long quality giving the single its fresh, raw edge.
Repko dives into the release, explaining, “With ‘How Cold’, I was talking about that kind of girl that’s super cold to everyone and you know if you get close to her then she’s going to break your heart. You’ve heard the stories, you’ve seen the social media posts, but you don’t care - you’re too enticed and you want to give it a chance. Soon after, you know you’re going down, you’re attached and she’s going to walk away. I wanted the record to be more punky sounding, an authentic straight up rock song. I wanted it to sound like something a band would play in a tiny club in NYC in the 70’s, like the Ramones but produced for a modern world.”
