S.F. Johnson builds anticipation for album with glowing new single ‘Strangers’

Spending most of his 20s as a songwriter under Modern Pleasure, S.F. Johnson moved to Tokyo and sparked his career in solo music, leading to his debut EP ‘Songs From An Empty Orchestra’. This sound set the scene for what we now see in the lead up to his forthcoming LP ‘Digital Utopia’ a project that promises to bring an introspection on everyday life. Bringing new sounds to commercial sensibilities, the artist is continuing to be both promising and exciting for fans and tastemakers alike.

The latest offering from S.F. Johnson is new single ‘Strangers’, capturing boundless emotion through well-penned storytelling and his glittery signature sound. His unique blend of New Wave, disco and alt-rock continues to build a gorgeous yet hazy soundscape that brings together the glamour of synths with the rugged melancholy achievable with an electric guitar. The track also boasts a driving bass-line and nostalgic drums, further helping you into the vibrant parallel world the artist is able to create.

"Strangers is about shaking off the things that get you down, reflecting and acknowledging change. Sometimes the things that once brought happiness, no longer do. To be a stranger in your own game is a weird feeling. I think it’s important to acknowledge this and move on, rather than live in something that no longer allows you to grow.”
