Following a brief hiatus since the release of their Sleepless EP back in 2020, Valentini Pavlidou and Lef Germenlis, better known by their band name Stone Fruit, return to unveil the first single of the new year, ‘Second Guess’, which is also the first single to be previewed from their upcoming EP, ‘Hold Me Close’.
Taking influence from the likes of Ry X and London Grammar, the pair have adopted a minimalistic, electro-folk approach to this tune, offering a dreamy soundscape full of haunting synths, gentle acoustic guitar and piano. Sonically enchanting and lyrically impassioned, ‘Second Guess’ captures the duo at their best, enmeshing the listener in the haunting vocals of Valentini Pavlidou and the spacious and ethereal production of Lef Germenlis.
